The Overture of Langsyne

I Sorrow
when i am low and lost within my head
deep where this concept can darkly produce
the guilt for all i've done 'til my tears shed
i'm broken down enough to see a noose
above a chair that all my demons kick
and following the sound of my strangle
they laugh hysterically for i die quick
then i see it from an altered angle
the world has never been too good to me
so after all my suffering i may
be far away from this so i can see
a beautiful and brighter kind of day
who in this life will be so kind and just
please lead me from my fantasies, you must!

II. Assuagement
oh, trust me when i say you're not alone
we all have felt that way from time to time
there are some people out there on their own
just waiting for the day that heaven's chime
will sound through all the pain and echo love
and as they walk throughout this life it's hard
to know not where they're headed and who of
this earthly sphere can make them feel less scarred
i'm here to take you from your thoughts of gloom
and lift your spirits knowing that you'll see
the places that you didn't think could bloom
kept always right here under the debris
you brought me tears because i heard you cry
i know your pain, your willingness to die
