My Own Reprieve

if ever you could know me then know this
i'm constantly lost in my deepest thoughts
where all my pain still mingles with my bliss
and brings my soul to shed the tears i fought
for years and years on end i lost my way
and couldn't for the life of me find peace
it's things like that which bring me to convey
here in my own reprieve what will not cease
while nothing is for certain in the end
they say that all is fair in love and war
my whole life through i often thought to spend
my time to find a love worth dying for
where i could know a life just as sincere
as who my heart may ever long revere
